TÜV SÜD conducted a feasibility assessment for the financing of a wind-energy project in North Macedonia. With a total installed capacity of 36 MW, the wind farm is expected to make an essential contribution to the country’s green energy transition. The assessment conducted is expected to make major contributions to the project’s investment security.
The new wind farm will be constructed in the village of Bogoslovec, 50 km southeast of Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. On the site, Siemens Gamesa will set up eight wind turbines with hub heights of 102.5 metres and rotor diameters of 145 metres.
TÜV SÜD completed the comprehensive examination on Erste Group’s behalf, which included analysing wind conditions, projected energy yield, and technical elements of construction such as operating expense, risk assessment, and construction timeline. According to the company, technical due diligence is a necessary basis for the effective implementation of worldwide wind-energy projects, which include the evaluation of several technological criteria.
TÜV SÜD is an independent service company based in Germany and Austria that tests, inspects, and certifies various technological systems in order to reduce risks and avoid harm. Due to this, they will continue to accompany the Bogoslovec wind farm project during its completion and will perform wind turbine takeover checks in 2023 on behalf of the project’s sponsoring bank.
