There is no doubt that there are huge opportunities from decarbonising industry, from industrial heating to green steel. The UK can become a global leader in hydrogen technology whilst exporting its successes on an international scale. With COP26 later this year, and the Hydrogen Strategy, Heat and Buildings Strategy and Net-Zero Strategy expected to be published shortly, there have never been more exciting opportunities for the Government to expand beyond its existing commitments for 5GW Hydrogen production to level up and support the creation of green jobs whilst delivering for the UK economy and our long-term environmental aims.
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Hydrogen has set out measures that can be taken to support the overall delivery of decarbonising industry through hydrogen and establishing the UK as a global leader in hydrogen technology.
