Siemens Gamesa to supply wind turbines for Vena Energy

Siemens Gamesa, a Spanish wind turbine manufacturer, has received an order from Vena Energy, a Singapore-based company, to deliver wind turbines for a 133 MW wind project in Karnataka, India. As per the agreement, Siemens Gamesa will supply 37 of its 3.X platform turbines, known as SG 3.6-145, for the project. The turbines would be manufactured at Siemens Gamesa’s facilities in India, and installation work at the site is slated to begin in 2023.

Envision to supply turbines for wind project in Laos

Envision Group, a Chinese energy company, has signed a letter of intent with Impact Energy Asia Development (IEAD) to supply wind turbines for the Monsoon Wind Project in Laos. For the 600 MW project, the company intends to deliver 133 EN-171 wind turbines, each having a capacity of 4.51 MW. The project is being developed by IEAD, and once fully operational, it will generate over 1,700 GWh of green energy each year.

Siemens Gamesa signs a 455 MW contract with OX2

Siemens Gamesa has signed a 455 MW deal with Swedish developer OX2 to supply its Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform to the Lestijärvi site for what will be Finland’s largest ever wind farm, assisting the country in making a giant leap in its energy transition. The wind project would be using 69 SG 6.6-170 turbines, which will be installed in Central Ostrobothnia in 2024. The wind turbines have a 170-meter rotor and a 6.6 MW generator.

Vestas wins 396 MW EnVentus order for wind project in Australia

Denmark’s Vestas Wind System A/S has won a 396 MW contract for Rye Park Wind Farm in New South Wales, Australia. The deal was placed by project owner Tilt Renewables. Vestas will supply and install 66 of its V162-6.2 MW wind turbines for the project. Delivery of the wind turbines is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2022, with commissioning to commence in the second quarter of 2023.

Vestas secures 126 MW order for a wind farm in Finland

Taaleri Energia has placed a 126 MW order with Vestas for the Isoneva project in Finland, bringing the total number of solid orders for the EnVentus platform in Finland to over 1.8 GW. The wind farm is located in the municipality of Siikajoki in northwestern Finland. While announcing the investment in the Isoneva and Murtotuuli projects in Finlan, Taaleri confirmed that the construction works on the wind farm began in April 2021.

South Korea plans to develop a 6 GW floating wind complex by 2030

South Korea has announced that it plans to build a 6 GW offshore wind park on floating foundations. The project will be located off the coast of Ulsan City at a proposed investment of KRW 36 trillion ($32.1 billion). The asset management division of Norges Bank, Norway’s central bank has confirmed that it will acquire a 50 per cent stake in the 752 MW Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm located off the coast of the Netherlands developed by Ørsted. Nucor signs 10-year power purchase agreement with Ørsted

Nucor Corporation announced that it has signed a 10-year virtual power purchase agreement for 100 MW of energy from Ørsted’s Western Trail wind farm (WTW) in North Texas. Ørsted’s WTW project is already under construction and is expected to be in service later this year. The project uses Nucor steel and steel products and is designed to continue generating power even during particularly severe weather which is common in the area.

Avangrid Renewables announced the commissioning of its 154.8 MW Tatanka Ridge Wind Farm. The project consists of 56 wind turbines and is located in Deuel County, S.D., northeast of Brookings. Further, the wind farm is owned by Tatanka Ridge Wind, LLC, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables and WEC Energy Group. The wind farm has penned a power purchase agreement with the Dairyland Power Cooperative for 51.6 MW of its capacity.

GE Renewable Energy to supply its turbines for the Phuoc Minh Wind Farm in Vietnam

GE Renewable Energy has secured a 27.2 MW contract to supply 8 units of its 3 MW-137 wind turbines to support construction of the Phuoc Minh Wind Farm, located in Ninh Thuan, in the South Central Region of Vietnam. A consortium of PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation, Henste Engineering and IPC Group will provide full engineering, procurement and construction services for the project.
