Vestas to supply turbines for 1.2 GW Baltic Power offshore wind project

Vestas, a Danish wind turbine company, has been chosen as the preferred turbine supplier for Baltic Power, a 1.2 GW offshore wind project in Poland. Baltic Power is being built by a partnership between PKN ORLEN and Northland Power. Vestas will deliver 76 of its V236-15.0 MW turbines for the wind project, which is located 23 km from the Polish Baltic Sea coastline.

Vestas sells wind project in Mississippi to AES Corporation

Vestas, Danish wind turbine manufacturer, has announced the sale of its 183 MW Delta wind project in Mississippi, US, to the AES Corporation. No financial details have been disclosed. Vestas’ North American development arm, Steelhead Americas, is working on the Delta project. Reportedly , it would be the first wind project in Mississippi and would be situated at a higher altitude to access stronger wind speeds.

Vestas to supply turbines for German offshore wind farm

Vestas, a Danish wind turbine maker, has signed an agreement to supply wind turbines to EnBW for the 900 MW He Dreiht offshore project in Germany on a conditional basis. The agreement was reached after EnBW pre-selected Vestas to supply the offshore wind turbines for the project through an EU tender process in July 2021.

Vestas, a Danish wind turbine manufacturer, has won a contract to supply and install wind turbines for the 423 MW Novo Horizonte wind park in Brazil from Pan American Energy Energias Renováveis. The wind farm, which is located in the Brazilian state of Bahia, will receive 94 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines from the company.

Vestas wins 295 MW wind turbine supply contract in Taiwan

Vestas, a Danish wind turbine manufacturer, has been awarded a 295 MW order for the Zhong Neng offshore wind project in Changhua County, Taiwan. China Steel Corporation (CSC) and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners are working together on the project (CIP). It will have 31 Vestas V174-9.5 MW turbines with the capacity to power 300,000 Taiwanese households each year.

Vestas to develop 9 GW of floating offshore wind by 2030

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has signed an MoU with Ulsan City, its port authority, and Sejin Heavy Industries & Construction to collaborate on plans to create a 9 GW floating offshore wind complex by 2030. According to the provisions of the MoU, Vestas is expected to work with Ulsan authorities and Sejin to develop the necessary infrastructure for the project, including establishing a base for the manufacturing and export of offshore wind equipment.

Vestas to stop all its four wind projects in Russia

In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas plans to halt four Russian wind projects. Novoalekseevskaya, Grazhdanskaya, Ivanovskaya, and Pokrovskaya are the four projects now in the development phase. They have a total capacity of 253 MW. Vestas was selected for these projects by a partnership that included Gazprombank of Russia and Fortum of Finland.

Vestas wins 396 MW EnVentus order for wind project in Australia

Denmark’s Vestas Wind System A/S has won a 396 MW contract for Rye Park Wind Farm in New South Wales, Australia. The deal was placed by project owner Tilt Renewables. Vestas will supply and install 66 of its V162-6.2 MW wind turbines for the project. Delivery of the wind turbines is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2022, with commissioning to commence in the second quarter of 2023.

Windcarrier wins turbine contract for 476 MW Baltic Eagle wind farm

Vestas has handed Fred Olsen Windcarrier (FOWIC) contract for the shipping and installation of turbines for the 476MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. The installation of the 50 Vestas V174-9.5MW machines will begin in 2024. This purchase is one of the three turbine transport and installation contracts that are worth up to Euro 124 million.The 476 MW Baltic Eagle project is being constructed by Spanish renewable company Iberdrola off the island of Rügen in German Baltic Sea waters. The project will cover an area of 40 km2 in total and supply electricity to about 475,000 households.

Vestas to acquire Mitsubishi’s 50% stake in their offshore JV

Vestas and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) have closed the agreement to expand their partnership in sustainable energy. By closing the agreement, Vestas has acquired MHI’s shares in the MHI Vestas Offshore Wind (MVOW) joint venture, while MHI has acquired 2.5 per cent in Vestas and will be nominated to a seat in Vestas’ Board of Directors.
