Innergex achieves financial closure of its 225 MW Griffin Trail wind project in Texas

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. (Innergex) has announced the financial closing and a tax equity commitment for its 225 MW Griffin Trail wind project located in Knox and Baylor Counties, in north-west Texas. The USD 276.2 million financing has been arranged with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation acting as coordinating lead arranger, and CIBC acting as joint lead arranger, backed by a USD 171.4 million tax equity commitment from Wells Fargo.

The state renewable purchase standards contracting call for 34 GW by 2035. Meanwhile the Federal lease program currently supports approximately 20 GW to 30 GW of projects depending on turbine density.

Ameren Missouri acquires its first wind energy project in northeast Missouri

Ameren Missouri, a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation has closed on the acquisition of a 400 MW wind power project in northeast Missouri. This is the company’s first wind energy project. The asset, High Prairie Renewable Energy Center, located in Adair and Schuyler counties is the first of the company’s two planned investments in the wind power space in Missouri.

Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital Inc. has announced a preferred equity investment in about 1.6 GW onshore wind and utility-scale solar portfolio which was developed and operated by the Clearway Energy Group in the United States. The portfolio includes 974 MW of onshore wind, 192 MW of solar capacity, and 557 MW of utility-scale solar combined with 395 MW of co-located storage.

Leeward Renewable Energy has commissioned its 171MW Mountain Breeze wind farm in Weld County, Colorado. The wind farm is comprised of 62 GE Renewable Energy onshore wind turbines. Citi bank provided tax equity financing of $162.9 million for the project. The wind park will provide energy to Colorado-based Xcel Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement.

EDF-Shell joint venture submits bid for offshore wind in New Jersey

Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind recently submitted a proposal to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for supply of 2,300 MW of offshore wind energy. The company is a 50-50 joint venture between EDF Renewables North America and Shell New Energies US LLC. The state of New Jersey seeks to award between 1,200 MW and 2,400 MW of offshore wind energy capacity as part of its second solicitation.
