Ventient Energy, a UK-based renewable energy company, has completed the acquisition of a clean energy portfolio in Spain totalling 443 MW. Regulatory officials authorised the merger in April 2022 after it was first announced in December 2021. The portfolio includes 203 MW of onshore wind and 240 MW of solar capacity, and it is located in the Spanish province of Castilla y Leon.

Shell, a British oil and gas company has been preparing binding bids to acquire Q-renewable Energy’s energy assets in Spain, which are worth €1 billion in total. Notably, Ingka Group owns the majority of IKEA stores worldwide. The solar installations have a combined capacity of 440 MW. Cepsa plans to reach net zero by 2050

As part of its energy transition strategy, Cepsa, a Spanish oil and gas company, expects to invest between $7.8 billion and $8.9 billion in Spain and Portugal by 2030. From next year, the corporation will devote more than 60 per cent of its investment to sustainable businesses. Spain will auction 500 MW renewable energy capacity in April 2022

Spain’s Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has announced that it will hold its next renewable energy auction, with a capacity of 500 MW in April 2022.
