Repsol to buy 250 MW renewable portfolio in Spain

Repsol, a Spanish energy company, has agreed to buy ABO Wind’s 250 MW portfolio of renewable energy sources in Spain. The Palencia-based portfolio consists of two solar projects with a combined capacity of 100 MW and three wind farms with a combined capacity of 150 MW. ABO Wind will be responsible for developing these projects for Repsol under the terms of the deal. No financial details of the deal have been disclosed.

Repsol begins producing energy at PI wind project in Spain

Repsol, a Spanish energy company, has started producing clean energy at PI, its first renewable project in Castilla y León. The PI project, which is situated in the provinces of Palencia and Valladolid, consists of seven wind farms with a total installed capacity of 175 MW. It will be able to produce 596 GWh of renewable energy annually, which is enough to supply the needs of 170,900 households on average.

GE Renewable Energy receives wind turbine contract from Repsol

Repsol, a Spanish energy firm, has awarded GE Renewable Energy a contract to construct wind turbines at six wind farms in Aragon, Spain. In accordance with the agreement, GE will provide 22 wind turbines, each with a 6.1MW capacity. The projects in the Santa Cruz I, Amp, II, and III, as well as the San Isidro I and II projects help compensate for the Delta II cluster, where the turbines will be installed.

Repsol and Ibereólica secure financing for wind farm in Chile

Repsol Ibereólica Renovables Chile, a partnership between Repsol Chile and Ibereólica Renovables Chile, has received financing for Project Atacama, a greenfield wind farm in northern Chile. For the construction and operation of the 165.3 MW wind farm, which already has a long-term power purchase agreement in place, the JV has raised $118 million.

TRIG acquires a 49 per cent stake in Repsol’s Spanish solar project

The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG), a UK-based energy investment group, has purchased a 49 per cent stake in Repsol Renovables’ Project Valdesolar, a 264 MW solar power park in Spain. Repsol will own the remaining 51 per cent of the Valdesolar project, which it developed and constructed. The deal’s financial terms have yet to be revealed.

Zara founder enters Spanish wind sector

Amancio Ortega, the founder of the Zara clothing brand, has entered the renewable energy market by acquiring a stake in a wind farm managed by Repsol, the Spanish energy giant. According to the reports, Ortega’s investment holding Pontegadea will pay $281 million for a 49 per cent stake in the Delta wind farm in the northern province of Zaragoza.
