Enbridge to develop renewable gas projects in Canada

Enbridge Inc., Walker Industries and Comcor Environmental have formed a partnership to jointly develop renewable natural gas projects across Canada. The partnership aims to transform landfill waste into carbon-neutral energy, which will be injected into local natural gas distribution networks across Canada, reducing the overall carbon emission of the gas supply used to heat homes, power businesses and fuel vehicle fleets.

Rice Acquisition Corp to form renewable natural gas platform in the United States

Rice Acquisition Corp,a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), has announced an agreement with Aria Energy and Archaea Energy to create a renewable natural gas (RNG) platform in the United States. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2021 and the combined company will be listed on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “LFG”. It aims to capture and convert waste emissions from landfills and anaerobic digesters into low-carbon RNG, electricity, and green hydrogen.

UGI Utilities to supply natural renewable gas from Pennsylvania landfill

UGI Utilities has announced the signing of an agreement with Archaea Energy which will see the former accept renewable natural gas (RNG) from the Keystone Landfill located in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. The RNG will be injected into UGI Utilities’ high-pressure natural gas pipeline which is installed across its distribution system in Lackawanna County in the state. The RNG will be processed to meet the utility’s requirements. The project is scheduled to be operational in September 2021.
