Indian government sanctions 23 new ISTS projects worth Rs 158.93 billion

The Indian union minister of power and new and renewable energy has sanctioned new 23 Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects with an estimated cost of Rs 158.93 billion. The new ISTS projects include 13 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 147.66 billion to be developed under tariff-based competitive bidding and 10 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 11.27 billion to be developed under a regulated tariff mechanism.

Germany plans to increase its renewable energy share to 80 per cent by 2030

US Solar Power Capacity To Maintain Strong Growth Despite Short-Term Risks

We have once again revised up our growth forecasts for the US solar sector, with total solar capacity now set to increase from 89.9GW in year-end 2020 to 241.2GW in 2030 – a 145% increase over the coming decade. Last quarter, we were forecasting the solar sector to reach 220.1GW capacity by the end of our 10-year forecast. Reliance New Energy Solar Limited (RNESL), the green energy subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has offered Rs 375 per share to acquire 49.14 million equity shares of Sterling and Wilson Solar for around Rs 18.42 billion. The 49.14 million shares represent a 25.9 per cent equity investment in Sterling and Wilson Solar or the company’s entire public shareholding.

Offshore wind projects in the US

According to forecasts, the US offshore wind industry is expected to deliver 25 GW by 2029. Of this, 9 GW has already been contracted or will be soon approved. EBRD to help finance construction of 100 MW wind project in Kazakhstan

EBRD announced funding an amount of $24.8 million to support the development of a wind project in Kazakhstan with a capacity of 100 MW. The project work will be undertaken by Zhanatas Wind Power Station, a special project company run and owned by China Power International Holding in partnership with Dutch alternative asset manager Visor Investments Cooperatif.
