OX2 will place the project, one of the largest in the country, in the mid-stage of its development portfolio for the second quarter of 2023. The project’s environmental impact study and permits have yet to be submitted.

OX2 to acquire ESCO Pacific for $84 million

OX2, a Swedish firm, has agreed to buy Australian renewable energy developer ESCO Pacific for $83.9 million. The deal’s conditions also permit a consideration of up to A$17 million, based on the accomplishment of sales and margin goals, in addition to the agreed consideration, which is on a debt-free basis. ESCO Pacific is owned by Shell, which holds a 49 per cent stake, along with founder Steve Rademaker and private investors. The aim is to complete the acquisition by the end of April 2023.

OX2 to construct 1.9 GW offshore energy hub in Baltic Sea

OX2, a Swedish renewable project developer, has begun construction on a 1.9 GW energy hub called Neptunus in the southern Baltic Sea. The hub, which will be situated in the Swedish economic zone, will be able to generate both electricity and hydrogen. It will include offshore wind turbines as well as equipment for converting electricity to hydrogen. Neptunus will be able to produce 8TWh of power annually, which is equal to 5 per cent of Sweden’s annual electricity consumption.

OX2 to construct 1.4 GW offshore wind farm in Finnish economic zone

OX2, a Swedish renewable project developer, has begun construction on the Tyrsky offshore wind farm in the Gulf of Bothnia, near Finland. The 1.4 GW offshore project will be situated about 30 km north-west of Kaskinen in the Finnish Economic Zone, southwest of Vaasa. It will be equipped with 100 wind turbines and will be capable of producing 6 TWh of renewable energy per year. The Finnish government granted OX2 a research permit for the Tyrsky wind farm in 2022.

OX2 has acquired a number of late-stage solar power projects totaling 152 MW in Andalusia, Spain. Since its establishment in April 2022, the company has made two acquisitions in the Spanish market. A contract has been reached by OX2 to purchase a portfolio of six solar power plants in Spain with a combined capacity of 152 MW.

OX2 sells stake in 9 GW Swedish offshore wind portfolio to Ingka

OX2, a developer of renewable energy projects, has sold its 49 per cent stake in three offshore wind projects in Sweden with a combined capacity of 9 GW to Ingka Investments, the investment division of the Ingka Group. OX2 will receive an initial payment of $56 million in accordance with the provisions of the agreement.

A permit application has been filed for the 5.5 GW Aurora Offshore Wind Farm in the Swedish Exclusive Economic Zone by OX2, a Swedish renewable project developer. The company applied to the County Administrative Board of Gotland for a Natura 200 authorization. The projected offshore wind plant, which would be located 20 kilometres south of Gotland and 30 kilometres east of Öland, will have up to 370 turbines.

Octopus Renewables, a UK-based renewable energy company, has signed an agreement to acquire four wind farms in the UK and Europe. The wind farms are based in the UK, Sweden, France, and Finland. Octopus Renewables has entered into an agreement with Swedish energy company OX2 to acquire a 31.5 MW onshore wind farm in Sweden.

OX2 applies for 1.8 GW Swedish offshore permit 

OX2, a renewable project developer based in Sweden, has applied for a permission to build a 1.8 GW offshore wind farm off the coast of Skne in the south of the Sweden. The application was submitted under the Swedish Exclusive Economic Zone Act. The Triton wind farm, proposed by OX2, will be located 30 kilometres south of Ystad and will include up to 129 turbines with a maximum height of 370 metres.
