RWE and Northland Power sign Hellenic Cables as preferred supplier for the Nordseecluster

RWE and Northland Power, the owners of Nordseecluster, have chosen Hellenic Cables as the preferred provider for the cluster of four offshore wind farms. Nordseecluster will be erected in two parts, Nordseecluster A and B, with RWE and Northland owning 51 per cent and 49 per cent, respectively. Phase One has two wind farms with a combined capacity of 660 MW and is currently applying for permits.

Northland Power to sign agreements for Oneida storage project

Northland Power, a Canadian energy firm, has finalised an energy storage storage facility to deal with Canada’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for the Oneida energy storage project. Reportedly, the Oneida project is one of the biggest battery energy storage projects in the world and the largest in the country. Upon completion in 2025, it will raise the quantity of energy storage resources on Ontario’s clean electricity grid from roughly 225 MW to nearly 475 MW.

Northland Power receives CPPA for offshore wind project in Taiwan

For its offshore wind farm in Taiwan, Canadian energy company Northland Power has entered into a corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with an investment-grade counterparty. In accordance with the 20-year CPPA, the buyer will receive all of the clean energy produced by the Hai Long 2B and 3 projects. The two projects will start operating in late 2026 and have a combined capacity of 744 MW.
