Jinchen to install 10 GW of production lines in India

Chinese manufacturer, Jinchen Machinery has announced the receipt of solar module production line orders of about 10 GW from India in 2021. Out of total orders, it has already installed 2 GW of equipment while the remaining capacity will be supplied over the next 2-3 months. The company also plans to open its office in Surat, Gujarat by August 2021, to serve its Indian customers.

LONGi signs commercial cooperation agreement with Engie to supply high-efficiency solar modules

Xinte Energy to supply 152,400 metric tonnes of polysilicon

Chinese polysilicon producer Xinte Energy has secured a polysilicon supply contract with a new entity, Qinghai Gaojing Solar Energy Technology. Xinte Energy will supply Qinghai Gaojing Solar Energy Technology Co with a total of 152,400 metric tonnes of polysilicon from July 2021 to December 2025 with prices being negotiated monthly. It is estimated that the contract could generate revenue of approximately $2.6 billion over the four and a half year agreement.

JA solar proposes a 20 GW cell and module manufacturing hub

JA Solar has planned the development of a manufacturing hub in the Qidong Economic Development Zone in the Jiangsu Province, China. The hub will have a PV cell production capacity and module assembly of 20 GW each. The project is estimated to cost approximately $1.56 billion over its four-year construction period. Further, JA Solar signed the investment framework agreement for the new manufacturing hub with the People’s Government of Qidong City, Jiangsu Province.

JinkoSolar to partner with Tongwei for project investment and industrial chain cooperation

inkoSolar has announced that it intends to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Tongwei to jointly invest in a high-purity crystalline silicon project with an annual capacity of 45,000 metric tons and a silicon wafer project with an annual production capacity of 15GW. The company also announced that the deal will develop a more extensive industrial chain cooperation.As per the agreement, JinkoSolar will own a 35 per cent equity stake in the 45,000 tons high-purity crystalline silicon project. Tongwei will hold a 30 per equity stake in the 15 GW silicon wafer project.
