Phanes begins construction of 21 MWp solar power park in Malawi

Phanes Group and its partner responsAbility Renewable Energy Holding (rAREH) have announced that it has begun construction of the 21 MWp Nkhotakota solar power park in Malawi. The companies will sell the electricity to the state-owned Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The second phase of the project will increase the capacity of the solar PV plant to 37 MWp.

Golomoti’s 20 MW solar project being developed in Malawi

The construction for the Golomoti solar power project has begun. The project has a capacity of 20 MWp along with a battery storage system with a capacity of 5 MW/10MWh. It is located in the Dedza district, about 100 km south-east of Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. Golomoti project is being developed by JCM Power, a Canadian independent power producer and being financed by InfraCo Africa, an investment company of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG).
