Envision to supply turbines for wind project in Laos

Envision Group, a Chinese energy company, has signed a letter of intent with Impact Energy Asia Development (IEAD) to supply wind turbines for the Monsoon Wind Project in Laos. For the 600 MW project, the company intends to deliver 133 EN-171 wind turbines, each having a capacity of 4.51 MW. The project is being developed by IEAD, and once fully operational, it will generate over 1,700 GWh of green energy each year.

Laos promotes hydropower to become the “Battery of Southeast Asia”

The Lao People’s Democratic Republic is taking steps to harness its hydropower potential in a bid to become the “Battery of Southeast Asia”. The country has a hydropower potential of about 26 GW, of which one-third has been utilised so far. Several projects are under planning/construction which would mainly be used to export power to countries of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and China.
