India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released a detailed document of its National Green Hydrogen Mission. The overarching objective of the mission is to make India, a global hub for production, usage and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives. It also aims to make India a leader in technology and manufacturing of electrolysers and other enabling technologies for green hydrogen.

Greenko, Cockerill partner to set up green hydrogen electrolysers in the Indian-subcontinent

Greenko ZeroC (GZC), a subsidiary of Greenko Group, an Indian clean-tech company, and John Cockerill, a Belgium-based manufacturer of high-capacity alkaline electrolysers, have agreed to a 50:50 joint venture to set up a green hydrogen electrolyser factory in the Indian-subcontinent. The two companies will build a hydrogen electrolyser gigafactory with a capacity of 2 GW which is aimed at substituting 8 per cent of India’s LNG imports.

Ohmium ships its first Indian made electrolyzer to the US

Ohmium International has sent its first unit of electrolyzer from India to the United States through its Indian subsidiary, as a first step toward establishing India as a global centre for green hydrogen generation. Ohmium produced the electrolyzer at its Bengaluru plant, which is India’s first green hydrogen electrolyzer Gigafactory.
