Solar modules, cells to face additional custom duties from 2022 in India
India’s finance ministry has approved the proposal of charging a basic customs duty (BCD) of 40 per cent and 25 per cent for the import of solar modules and cells, respectively, from April 1, 2022. The new BCD imposition comes just a few months after a one-year extension on safeguard duty was announced in July 2020.
