BlueFloat Energy to construct 1.7 GW offshore wind farm in Australia

BlueFloat Energy, a Spanish renewable energy company, has announced its plans to build Eastern Rise, a 1.7 GW floating offshore wind farm in Australia. The floating wind farm will be built in a proposed offshore wind zone in the Hunter Region, which had been announced by Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen. Reportedly, Eastern Rise is expected to be completed over a period of seven years and will create several local jobs in its development phase.

Ørsted and partners to sign agreement for offshore site in Scotland

Ørsted, a Danish renewable energy company, has signed an option agreement with Falck Renewables and BlueFloat Energy to develop an offshore wind site off Scotland’s north-east coast. The companies signed the agreement with Crown Estate Scotland (CES). The deal comprises the construction of a floating wind farm with a capacity of up to 1 GW, which was secured in the latest ScotWind offshore wind leasing round.
