Major Strides: Bangladesh focuses on renewables and grid modernisation
A key focus area for Bangladesh, going forward, is energy transition, for which it is now looking to increase the contribution of renewable energy to the country’s overall electricity generation to around 40 per cent by 2050 from less than 3 per cent now. The country currently has a renewable energy base of a little over 700 MW, the majority of which comes from solar.
