Windcarrier wins turbine contract for 476 MW Baltic Eagle wind farm

Vestas has handed Fred Olsen Windcarrier (FOWIC) contract for the shipping and installation of turbines for the 476MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. The installation of the 50 Vestas V174-9.5MW machines will begin in 2024. This purchase is one of the three turbine transport and installation contracts that are worth up to Euro 124 million.The 476 MW Baltic Eagle project is being constructed by Spanish renewable company Iberdrola off the island of Rügen in German Baltic Sea waters. The project will cover an area of 40 km2 in total and supply electricity to about 475,000 households.

Equinor and Polenergia secure CfDs for 1.4 GW of offshore wind in Poland

Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office has announced that developers, Equinor and Polenergia were awarded contracts for difference (CfD) for the Baltyk II and Baltyk III projects under the first phase of Poland’s offshore wind development scheme. Poland awards CfD for 2.5 GW Baltica Offshore Wind Farm

The Polish Energy Regulatory Office has awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) to the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm which is reported to be the largest offshore wind project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. Its two phases, Baltica 3 and Baltica 2, would together have a cumulative capacity of up to 2.5 GW. The CfD was awarded at a maximum of PLN 319.60/MWh in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Climate and Environment of Poland and the Offshore Wind Act.

Germany floats 958 MW offshore wind tender

Germany has issued a tender to develop 958 MW of offshore wind capacity across three areas in the North and Baltic Seas. 658 MW projects are planned for the North Sea, while the remaining 300 MW is allocated for schemes in the Baltic Sea. The capacity is expected to be operational by 2026.
