EAIF to fund 44 MW hydroelectric dam in Ivory Coast

Ivoire Hydro Energy (IHE) has received Euro 25 million from the Private Infrastructure Development Group’s Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF). The money will be used to build the Singrobo hydropower dam in Southern Ivory Coast. Then loan was issued with a 25-year repayment option. IHE, the project developer, will receive the funds and the loan is in addition to other sources of funding that have previously been secured.

Korea will invest $600 million in renewable energy alongside AfDB

The African Development Bank, the Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Export-Import Bank of Korea have signed an agreement under which South Korea will co-finance energy projects with the African Development Bank for $600 million. AfDB funds $530 million in transmission projects in Angola

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has committed to funding $530 million to finance the construction of a 343 km, 400 kV central-south transmission line that will connect the north and south transmission grids in Angola to allow for power distribution between the two regions. AfDB approves loan for 200 MW solar project in Egypt

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has announced the sanctioning of a loan to support ACWA Power’s 200 MW Kom Ombo solar power project in Egypt. The bank will offer funding of $27.2 million in the form of a senior loan with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Green Climate Fund Arab Bank, and the OPEC Fund for International Development being the key contributors. The total cost of the project is $156.4 million.
