Hannon Armstrong finances AES’ 1.3 GW renewable portfolio

Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital (HASI), a US-based energy investment company, has invested in two grid-connected renewable energy assets that are owned and operated by electricity provider AES. The company has invested in a 1.3 GW portfolio of renewable energy projects, including solar and wind projects created, owned, and managed by AES. Additionally, it plans to buy a 49 per cent stake in the portfolio, which consists of one wind project and 17 current solar projects.

AES signs PPAs to deliver 450 MW of clean energy to Amazon

AES Corporation, based in the US, has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Amazon to supply 450 MW of clean energy to power its data centre operations in California. AES Corporation’s portfolio of projects will deliver clean energy to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) market with 450 MW of solar and 225 MW of four-hour duration battery energy storage.

AES Clean Energy closes landmark debt financing for 400 MWh standalone battery storage project in California

AES Clean Energy has announced the closing of the $154.2 million in non-recourse debt financing for Luna Storage, a 400 MWh standalone battery storage project in California. The project is located in the city of Lancaster in Los Angeles County in California. The fund was raised by KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Silicon Valley Bank, and Export Development Canada. The transaction was closed by sPower, an independent power producer, which merged in January 2021 to become a part of AES Clean Energy’s business in the United States.
