Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy provider, has acquired the German and France wind farm portfolio with an installed capacity of 346 MW from Breeze Three Energy. The transaction value has not been disclosed. Statkraft, based in Norway, has added 39 wind farms in Germany and four wind farms in France to its European onshore wind generation portfolio.

The German wind farms, which stretch from Bavaria in the south to Schleswig-Holstein in the north, have a total installed capacity of 311 MW. The German portfolio, which includes 187 turbines, generates almost 463 GWh per year on average. The age of the wind farms is in the range of 13 and 22 years. In France, the acquired portfolio has a total capacity of 35 MW from 16 wind turbines. The French wind farms produce an average annual yield of nearly 60 GWh. Their age varies between 13 and 14 years.

This development is in line with Statkraft’s aim to scale up as a wind and solar developer with a development rate of 2.5 GW to 3 GW per year by 2025. In June 2021, Statkraft, BP and Aker Offshore wind collaborated to develop offshore wind energy projects in Norway. The partnership will work with local suppliers, building ‎industrial competencies for Norway’s offshore wind market, and contribute toward value ‎creation in the Nordic and European energy market.
