SK D&D, a South Korean renewable energy developer, has signed a MoU with energy fund manager Glennmont Partners to invest in solar PV projects in South Korea. The two companies will invest around $153 million in the projects under the terms of the MoU.
In addition, SK D&D will be in charge of sourcing, project management, and operation of the solar facilities, while Glennmont will be responsible for debt financing and selling the projects to end users. Furthermore, SK D&D aims to enter the electricity trading business and leverage data from assets acquired through potential co-investments.
In May 2022, Vena Energy chose Offshore Design Engineering to serve as the owner’s engineer for its 384 MW Yokji offshore wind farm in South Korea. Under the contract, basic engineering, wind turbine generator package support, engineering, procurement, and construction preparation support services are included.
