Siemens Gamesa has signed an agreement with Eolus, a major wind power developer in the Nordic region, to deliver 16 wind turbines for upcoming wind projects in Skallberget-Utterberget and Tjarnas, Sweden. The first project, located in the Avesta Municipality in Skallberget-Utterberget, will be equipped with twelve SG 6.6-170 wind turbines that will generate approximately 74 MW of power. The second project, in Hedemora Municipality’s Tjarnas, will feature four turbines producing around 25 MW of power. Both projects will be complete in the fourth quarter of 2023, and both the projects are located in SE3.

Eolus announced in a press statement in September 2020 that it has reached an agreement with Siemens Gamesa for wind turbines for the Boarp and Dallebo projects. That contract has now been ended and transferred to the current one. Another arrangement for delivering turbines for the Rosenskog project was announced during the same time, and it is still in effect. The project is expected to be finished in the autumn of 2023.

In December 2021, Dominion Energy ordered 176 wind turbines from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project. The 2.6 GW project is the largest offshore wind farm currently under construction in the US. It is expected to generate enough energy to power 660,000 homes when it is completed in 2026.
