Siemens Gamesa, a German energy company, has signed a turbine supply agreement as well as service and availability agreements with Taiwan’s Hai Long offshore wind project. The agreement incorporates three offshore wind projects with a total capacity of 1.04 GW. These include the 512 MW Hai Long 3 project as well as the 300 MW and 232 MW capacity Hai Long 2A and Hai Long 2B projects.

According to the agreement, Siemens Gamesa will provide 73 of its 14 MW-capable SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines. The turbines will be installed 50 km from Changhua County’s coast. Siemens Gamesa has committed to a 15-year service contract under the terms of the arrangement, with an option to extend it to 20 years. For all three projects, it will also provide offshore logistics and operations and maintenance services.

In September 2022, Siemens Energy AG issued subordinated mandatory convertible notes of Euro 960 million. The pre-emptive rights of shareholders of the company to subscribe for the notes were not included. The notes would be convertible into newly issued or existing registered no-par value company shares. The net proceeds from this issue would be used to partially finance Siemens Gamesa’s voluntary cash offer for all outstanding shares.
