Under the first round of the 2 GW Green Energy Auction Program, the Philippines’ Department of Energy awarded 19 contracts to develop 1.57 GW of renewable energy projects. Solar, hydro, wind, and biomass projects in the Philippines’ Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions were auctioned out. The winning bids will receive 20-year power supply agreements. The projects are planned to start up between 2023 and 2025. The auction was started in March 2022 by the Department of Energy to allocate 2 GW of renewable energy capacity across its three main power areas. 

Solar Philippines subsidiaries secured a total capacity of 930 MW in Luzon. The projects included the 200 MW Concepcion Tarlac 2 Solar Power Project, the 280 MW Santa Rosa Nueva Ecia 2 Solar Power Project, and the 450 MW Tayabas Solar Power Project. PAVI Green Renewable Energy was awarded the 40.4 MW PAVI Green Naga Solar Power Project, while Greenergy Solutions was awarded the 99.98 MW Talugtug Solar Power Project. The 70 MW Caparispisan I Wind Power Project was awarded to Amihan Renewable Energy Corp, while the 30 MW Calatagan Wind Power Project was awarded to Solar Philippines Calatagan Corporation. Bayog Wind Power Corp won the 160 MW Balaoi and Caunayan Wind Power Project, while CleanTech Global Renewables received the 100.8 MW Kalayaan 2 Wind Power Project. Hedcor awarded Cordillera Hydroelectric Power Corporation the 60 MW Kapangan Hydroelectric Power Project and the 20 MW Sablan 1 Hydroelectric Power Project to Cordillera Hydroelectric Power Corporation.

Solar Philippines Visayas Corporation was awarded the 300 MW Kananga-Ormoc Solar Power Project, and Petrowind Energy, Inc. was allocated the 13.2 MW Nabas 2 Wind Power Project.

Philnewriver Power Corporation was awarded the 3.7 MW Malitbog Hydroelectric Power Project and the 3.7 MW Silo-0 Hydroelectric Power Project. The 4.85 MW Mat-|1 Hydroelectric Power Project and the 6.9 MW Clarin Hydroelectric Power Project were allocated to Philnew Hydro Power Corporation. Cotabato Sugar Central Company received 3.4 MW of the 10 MW Biomass Cogeneration Plant. Solar Philippines Commercial Rooftop Projects was awarded the 120 MW General Santos Solar Power Project.
