The Nordex Group has received orders from a Finnish wind farm developer for four N163/5.X turbines with a total capacity of 199.5 MW. The turbines will also be serviced for a duration of 30 years under the Premium Service agreement. The wind farms will be built in the heart of Finland’s mid-west area, as well as in the west, along the shore in the Ostrobothnia region.

Nordex will deliver the N163/5.X on tubular steel towers with hub heights of 148 and 159 metres in the project-specific 5.7 MW operating mode. The wind turbines for the bundle of wind farms will be delivered and placed in the spring and summer of 2022, with the whole project expected to be finished in the late fall of that year.

The company has received a flurry of orders from wind project developers in Finland. For instance, in May 2021, Energiequelle, an international wind farm developer, commissioned the Nordex Group to supply and install eight N163/5.X turbines for the 45.6 MW “Lumivaara” project in Finland. Similarly, in March 2021, the global project developer wpd placed an order for 17 N163/5.X turbines for the 96.9 MW “Nuolivaara” wind farm in Finland.

With more than 33 GW of wind power capacity installed in over 40 markets, the Nordex Group has manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States, India and Mexico. The company’s product portfolio focuses on 4 to 5.X MW onshore wind turbines. These turbines are customised according to the specific market requirements of geographies that have space and grid constraints. As per company data, it generated revenues amounting EUR 4.6 billion in 2020.
