The US is moving fast towards electrifying mobility, and policies and plans are being rolled out in many states for greater adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). In response, utilities, charging network operators and technology providers are working towards ramping up the charging infrastructure to support this transition to EVs.

Among various states, New York’s comprehensive commitment to the expansion of clean transportation options is positioning it as a national leader in EV deployment and the continued technological advancement of charging infrastructure. At a recent virtual conference, “EV Charging Infrastructure 2020 – Opportunities, Technologies and Solutions”, organised by Global Transmission, Diane X. Burman, Commissioner, New York State Public Service Commission spoke about the state’s EV plans and programs, current state of EV charging infrastructure, the progress so far and future outlook.
