Nestlé Pure Life and Yellow Door Energy have completed the installation of a solar power plant at Nestle’s facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The project is expected to produce 2,400 MWh of renewable energy. In addition, it could be part of Nestle’s 7 MW solar project at its Dubai manufacturing plants, which was announced in 2017. The companies have not disclosed any information about the project’s actual installed capacity.

During the contract period, Yellow Door Energy will also finance, design, build, operate, and maintain the solar facility. Nestle stated that the carport construction is approximately six metres in height. The total installation provides shading to 72 distribution trucks of Nestlé Waters. Furthermore, robots will clean the surface solar panels on a regular basis as part of the project.

As per the company’s statement, the project will minimise carbon emissions and help the company achieve its goal of becoming a net-zero emitter by 2050. Nestle has installed more than 2,500 solar panels on the carport structure of its factory. The solar PV installation will be sufficient to meet 80 per cent of the Nestle factory’s energy requirements.
