Gwynt Glas Offshore Wind Farm has inked an agreement with Associated British Ports and the Port of Milford Haven to prepare the region for floating wind farms in the Celtic Sea. The projected Gwynt Glas floating offshore wind farm has the potential to generate 1 GW of green energy. It is a joint venture (JV) between DP Energy and EDF Renewables UK. Once finished, the floating offshore wind farm will provide almost 927,400 homes with clean energy and support The Crown Estate’s aim of 4 GW of capacity in the Celtic Sea.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, Port Talbot and Milford Haven in South Wales will share information and expertise for the development of manufacturing, assembly, load-out, and servicing infrastructure.

In May 2022, Origin Energy announced the purchase of the Yarrabee Solar Farm in New South Wales (NSW). The first phase of the solar complex, which will be located in NSW’s Riverina district, is expected to have a capacity of 450 MW. Under the planning approval granted by the NSW government in December 2018, this could be upgraded to up to 900 MW.
