Grenergy, a Spanish company renewable energy company specializing in the development, construction and operation of photovoltaic and wind projects, has closed financing with Natixis, a French financial services multinational, for fourteen new solar plants, to be set up in Chile for around $ 85 million.
Together the fourteen projects will have a capacity of 130 MW and an estimated annual production of 311 GWh, which will prevent the emission of about 108,900 tons of CO2 per year. The construction of the first plants: Mitchi and Condor has already begun.
According to David Ruiz de Andrés, executive director of Grenergy, “the closure of the financing of these projects in Chile meets in installments the strategic objective of their implementation in 2021. In addition, it continues to demonstrate the company’s strong commitment to Chile, a serious country with a strong commitment to competitive and clean energies.” Meanwhile, Aitor Alava, Natixis’ head of infrastructure financing in Latin America, said that “this agreement with Grenergy is in line with the financial institution’s goal of becoming an important player in PMGD (Small Distributed Generation Means) and infrastructure transactions in Latin America.”
