The study carried out by the Enel Foundation and The European House – Ambrosetti in collaboration with Enel analyzes the European Union and Italy’s delay in achieving the decarbonization goals by 2030, also in light of the new “Fit for 55” policy package. It assesses the current weaknesses in the governance systems in Italy and rest of Europe that limit energy transition and defines the investments needed to bridge the gap. Finally, the study identifies seven proposals to improve governance and thereby reap the economic, social, and environmental benefits of the energy transition.
