Emerson has collaborated with SirajPower to install a solar rooftop plant at its Middle-East and Africa headquarters in Dubai, making it the largest solar rooftop plant in a single location in Jebel Ali. This important sustainability initiative supports Emerson’s long-term commitment and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals to boost decarbonization efforts, reduce emissions, and improve resource efficiency.

Emerson selected Clenergize Solar Consultants as complete advisers to include requirements, tenders, contract management, design reviews, and project management, in addition to SirajPower. SirajPower will finance, design, build, and manage the solar rooftop, which will consist of 5,489 solar panels spanning a roof area of 19,340 sqm over four of Emerson’s warehouses and office buildings in Jebel Ali South.

The solar panel has a capacity of 2.6 MWp and will generate 3.923 GWh of renewable energy per year. This initiative will lower Emerson’s carbon footprint by 2,891 metric tonnes per year. The construction is in line with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Shams Dubai plan, a pioneering drive to make Dubai the smartest city in the world by encouraging the use of clean and renewable energy sources and supporting the diversification of the energy mix.

Emerson is changing its culture, business processes, and infrastructure in order to promote a more inclusive and sustainable world. This solar panel installation project exemplifies our dedication to sustainability in Dubai and aligns with our worldwide sustainability strategy.
