Ameren Missouri, a US-based energy company, has agreed to purchase the 200 MW Huck Finn solar project in Central Missouri with EDF Renewables under a build-transfer agreement. No financial details have been disclosed. Huck Finn, which is planned to be built on the border of Missouri’s Audrain and Ralls counties, will have the capacity to power almost 40,000 homes in the area. The project would be Ameren Missouri’s largest acquisition to date and could come online as early as 2024 subject to the ‘timely’ receipt of regulatory approvals.

Huck Finn is expected to employ 250 people during its construction phase. Once completed, the project will be able to generate 25 times more power than Missouri’s largest existing solar facility. It will be the ninth solar project announced or put into service by the company since 2019. Huck Finn will be part of Ameren Missouri’s plan to install 2.8 GW of new clean energy capacity by the end of this decade.
