Aker Horizons AS has announced the launch of a new platform company, Aker Clean Hydrogen, a pure-play industrial clean hydrogen producer that aims to emerge as the most efficient hydrogen value chain integrator on a global scale. Aker Clean Hydrogen has a portfolio of nine clean hydrogen projects and prospects with a total net capacity of 1.3 GW under development, and additional pipeline and opportunities of 4.7 GW. Further, the company aims to reach a net installed capacity of 5 GW by 2030. Aker Clean Hydrogen has a vision to accelerate learning curves and improve efficiencies to take the cost of hydrogen production to $ 1.5 per kg over the next ten years.

The portfolio includes the recently announced partnership with Norwegian industrial pioneers, Yara and Statkraft, for electrification of the ammonia plant at Herøya, as well as other green ammonia projects in Norway. The additional portfolio includes a plan to create emission-free shipping in the Arctic, green hydrogen production in Chile, a strategic initiative in India, and emission-free shipping in Antarctica.

Aker Horizons is currently planning to preparing for private placement in Aker Clean Hydrogen as well as listing on Euronext Growth. The private placement is expected to have a minimum subscription of Euro 100,000. Aker Horizons is expected to see to it that its shareholders are provided with preferred allocation in the Private Placement. Carnegie, DNB Markets, a part of DNB Bank ASA, and Pareto Securities AS are set to help in the initial public offering.
